We recently hosted a NYC-based TM1 Lovers Meetup at the IBM offices at 590 Madison in Midtown. The networking and educational event drew Revelwood clients who currently use TM1 and/or Planning Analytics, other TM1 and Planning Analytics users from the Tri-State area, IBMers and members of the Revelwood team.
After some networking time (with appetizers and cocktails), Rob Gordy, our VP of Professional Services, held an interactive discussion with the attendees on best practices and practical tips on migrating from TM1 to Planning Analytics.
We were also able to feature a guest speaker from IBM. Matthew Hopkins, a software engineer, is an expert on Planning Analytics for Excel (PAx). He shared current information and techniques on working with PAx. Matt also provided our audience with details on upcoming product releases.
The next part of the event was a “town-hall”-style session, led by John Pra Sisto. John facilitated the discussion and sharing between TM1 users about their experiences, plans, and expectations around migrating to Planning Analytics. After that discussion, Brian Combs provided insights on FP&A best practices, and how companies need to consider process, people and technology for a fully optimized system. Brian explained how important that perspective is for migrating to Planning Analytics.
“This TM1 Lovers Meetup was exactly what a meetup should be,” said John. “There was a lot of sharing and discussion between the group members. We had a short networking break between two of the sessions. The attendees were so engaged with networking, we actually had to encourage them to get back into the main room.”
This meetup was one of a series of events we’ve held on the topic of migrating from TM1 to Planning Analytics.
