Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud Financial Planning and Analysis Solutions

Two of our partners – Adaptive Insights and IBM — are featured as Leaders in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Cloud Financial Planning and Analysis Solutions.” This report was previously called the “Magic Quadrant for Cloud Strategic Corporate Performance Management Solutions.”

The report includes some overall market trends, which include:

  • An accelerated shift from mature on-premises offerings to cloud solutions
  • Finance leaders are turning to SaaS solutions to reduce application support costs, increase application flexibility and shorten time to value
  • The majority of new sales of FP&A software in this category are cloud-based

This year’s Magic Quadrant assesses 16 vendors in the space. They are: Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, BOARD International, CCH Tagetik, Host Analytics, IBM, Jedox, Kaufman All (Axiom Software), Kepion, Longview, OneStream Software, Oracle, Prophix, SAP, Vena Solutions, and Workiva.

Two Revelwood Partners Named Leaders in Gartner MQ for Cloud Financial Planning & Analysis Solutions

Leader: Adaptive Insights

Gartner named Adaptive Insights a Leader in this Magic Quadrant as a result of its scores for Completeness of Vision, “reflecting its sales, marketing and product strategy,” and for its Ability to Execute, “reflecting its product and marketing execution and high customer satisfaction ratings.” It also states that “reference customers for Adaptive Insights reported that their top-three product selection criteria, in order, were ease of use, functional capability and solution flexibility.”

The company’s strengths include:

  • User survey ratings above average in all 11 key areas surveyed
  • Reference customers reporting “having upgraded to new versions within a week”
  • “Increased scalability and performance capabilities in support of larger and more-complex implementations by large organizations”

Leader: IBM

IBM moved to the Leader quadrant this year “due to its level of customer expansion in the cloud, as well as its geographic, sales and product strategies.” Gartner states that “Reference customers for IBM reported that their top-three product selection criteria, in order, were modeling capabilities, solution flexibility and price.

The company’s strengths include:

  • Having many large customers and a large implementation partner ecosystem
  • That Planning Analytics has had “many improvements to enhance functionality, usability and flexibility”
  • Having a diversified customer base
